I phoned into the Summit County Council work meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024. After one hour of other discussions, the presentation by Mark Stanworth, CEO of DPRE finally began. I found it to be very confusing, especially the construction phase-in over the next 10 years! That schedule was also linked to UDOT construction improvements to S.R. 224. Not to mention $7 million in additional costs, and $7 million in lost revenue! This project estimates 2,000+ additional people would be living at Kimball Junction when completed. There was no mention of the impacts this project would have on resources like traffic, water, the environment, recreation, schools, health care, fire department, police department, etc.The best comment I heard at the November meeting I attended was: “This project belongs in Sugar House!” What part of “no” don’t they understand? Summit County Council: Please, please vote “no” on this project. I have lived in Silver Springs for more than 43 years. Please do not destroy our quality of life!Karen TafuriPark CityThe post Please vote ‘no’ appeared first on Park Record.
