BOWIE, Md. (DC News Now) -- Bowie police are investigating a burglary spree where suspects targeted several stores including wine and liquor stores in one day.
Joe Hillman lives in Bowie and is concerned about the uptick in crime in his community.
“Most of this stuff you see is happening in D.C. but it’s no surprise that it is happening out in the suburbs," Hillman said. "Doesn't surprise me at all. Everybody keeps saying this doesn't happen in my neighborhood, but it happens in every neighborhood."

The Bowie Police Department (BPD) said it is unclear if the two burglaries are connected.
Surveillance video captured both suspects as they fled the burglaries, and investigators believe they used a black Infiniti as a getaway car.
Hillman wants those responsible to be caught and face the consequences.
“It is concerning, and I would like to see more accountability and more police patrols," he said.
BPD said the burglars allegedly broke into several businesses on Dec. 4.
The first incident happened around 7 a.m. at Crescent Wine on Annapolis Road. Then, 30 minutes later, suspects hit Bowie Liquor on Laurel Bowie Road.

The owner of Ramoun’s Kitchen next door to Crescent Wine is also concerned.
“It is really shocking because the staff gets in pretty early to serve our food and it is shocking that something like that happens this close," the restaurant owner said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
