SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A DUI driver left hundreds without power after crashing into a power pole in Sanger, CHP said Wednesday.
According to officers, the driver drifted onto the shoulder before slamming into the power pole.
Pictures from the scene show the impact of the collision tore off the SUV's front bumper and shoved the pole through the passenger side of the front windshield where it came to rest at an almost 45-degree angle.
Despite the apparent damage, CHP says the driver was not injured.
The driver was booked at the Fresno County Jail under suspicion of driving under the influence.
