Two Berkeley High students arrested for bringing guns to school: BPD

(KRON) -- Two Berkeley High School students were arrested on Wednesday after they were found in possession of handguns on campus, the Berkeley Police Department said. Nobody was injured or threatened.
Police learned at 12:35 p.m. that a student possibly had a handgun. BPD responded, investigated, found two handguns and arrested two male students, aged 17 and 18.

Both students were arrested without incident, according to a press release from the Berkeley Unified School District.
"The district finds this serious safety incident to be deeply concerning and will cooperate with BPD in their investigation," BUSD said.
Neither student brandished their weapon, per the school district. The school never went into lockdown.
