Wichita police investigating two bank robberies

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—The Wichita Police Department is investigating two bank robberies that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
The first bank robbery occurred at the Equity Bank near Rock Road and Kellogg at 4:10 p.m.
WPD said that preliminary investigation indicates that a male suspect entered Equity Bank and gave a note to a bank teller instructing them to give him money.
The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
The second bank robbery occurred at the Intrust Bank near Harry Street and Webb Road at 6 p.m.
WPD said that a suspect entered Intrust Bank, approached a bank teller, and demanded cash from them while brandishing a firearm.
The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
KSN sent a crew to both scenes.
At this time, it is unknown whether the two robberies are related.
