ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The United States Air Force Thunderbirds are slated to headline the 2026 Rochester International Airshow at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. Provided: Monroe County Rochester to use pyrotechnics, loud noises and lasers to disperse large roosts of crows The Thunderbirds appeared five times in Rochester over the last 19 years, taking to the skies here in 2005, 2008, 2014, 2019, and most recently, 2023. While stationed in Nebraska, they’re on the road — and in the skies – about 250 days a year, putting on about 75 shows across the nation. Additional details regarding the 2026 airshow are expected to be revealed in the coming months. The show is scheduled to run Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9.
