HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The city of Hanford has created a new app that will allow residents to voice their concerns and request government services. Titled "My Hanford" city officials say the new free app gives residents the ability to send repair or service requests directly to city staff members using photos, location information, and request details. “This will be that tool where we will be able to develop milestones and measurable objectives for the City when we are asked to address a community concern,” said City Manager Mario Cifuentez. Officials say the software also detects duplicate requests, so if a resident begins to submit a request already in the system, it will notify them and enable them to follow the existing request. People will be able to report their issues to government leaders and also view and follow issues submitted by their neighbors. The city clarifies the app should not be used for urgent or emergency situations as it is not monitored 24/7. The My Hanford app is available for download on any iOS or Android device and accessible through the city's website.
