And nobody injured,” assured Capt. Lisette Rios, Trenton Police Department spokesperson. Rios said police responded to an anonymous call made just after 2 p.m. Police officers secured the area. Others blocked off a part of South Clinton Ave. near Hamilton Ave., a portion of Pearl St., and Hudson St. Two Trenton Fire Department vehicles were also on scene. Residents stood on doorsteps and on corners, unaware that a bogus phone call had caused the uproar. “Police made the decision to shield up at 2:41 p.m. then made entry. They searched the entire premises and basically found nothing, only the resident who appears to have nothing to do with the incident. It was just a hoax,” Rios said. Swatting identifies as an incident that attracts a large number of police officers to a particular address, in many cases to embarrass both residents and police officers.
