WALTERBORO, S.C. (WSAV) - The Colleton County Fire-Rescue (CCFR) and Colleton County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) responded to a reported structure fire Hendersonville Elementary School on Wednesday. CCFR responded to CCSO School Resource Officer (SRO) detected a burning smell in one of the break rooms in the 100 hallway. The SRO immediately requested Fire-Rescue to respond and began to evacuate the school. Students and staff were evacuated as a precaution to an area of the school separate from where the smoke was observed in order to keep them out of the bad weather.
