Man who admitted to string of violent robberies in Albuquerque sentenced

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who admitted to committing a string of violent robberies earlier this year will spend a year behind bars for his crime. According to court records, Daniel Chavez-Montoya, along with his brothers Rudy and Dominick, and Rudy's girlfriend Antoinette Mendoza, committed several robberies in January. On the same day, they attacked employees and stole from Family Dollar, AutoZone, and Walgreens.
Roswell police arrest man accused of Saturday shooting
Daniel Chavez-Montoya pled guilty to shoplifting and battery charges back in November. On Wednesday, he was sentenced to one year at the Metropolitan Detention Center as agreed upon in the plea deal. His brother Rudy's plea deal also agreed to a year sentence. Mendoza will be sentenced to two years probation. Dominick Chavez-Montoya is still awaiting trial.
