In that time, Sever performed penetrative sex on a resident, P.M., 82, who was living in a memory care unit for Alzheimer’s. On a separate occasion, Fisher said that Sever performed sexual acts on another memory care resident, W.R., 85, who was being treated for dementia. Fisher said that both residents’ illnesses deprived them “of the nature to approve of sex acts and resist sex acts” or to “appraise the nature of the relationship” with the defendant.Sever’s father, Heber City Police Chief Parker Sever, said he hopes his son can get “the counseling that he needs.”“He’s an adult and he made some choices, and now he’s working through those choices,” Police Chief Sever said. “Hopefully in the future, he can make better choices and be a productive member of society.”Defense attorney Aaron Owens represented the defendant, Jayden Parker Sever, in Heber District Court at the Wasatch County Courthouse on Wednesday.
