A soaking, wind-driven rain continues out there this evening, but there is an end in sight.
After a torrential line of rain (and even some thunder!) soaks the region through midnight, tallying 2-3+ inches of rain, skies will dry into tomorrow morning.
Winds have just about peaked, reaching 45-55 mph for most of the area. However, it will continue to be gusty right into our Thursday.
We have seen thousands of power outages this evening, but with winds subsiding soon things should improve. Seas will also remain quite choppy with the windy weather.
Much colder air comes plunging in as well, and so it will feel drastically colder throughout the day. Highs will be in the 40s, but wind chills the 20s and 30s!
At least sunshine will be abundant for the end of the week. We bottom out Friday morning through Saturday with frigid air before we start to turn mild again next week.
