Newport Police closing roads due to flooding, Newport Bell Bridge restricts trailers and buses

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Newport Police Department said it is closing three roads due to “heavy surf and flooding.”
The following roads have been closed:
Harrison Avenue at Castle Hill Road;
Ocean Avenue at Kings Beach;
Ocean Avenue at Winans Road.
In addition, the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority said that access to the Newport Pell Bridge and Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge has been restricted.

House trailers/RVs as well as empty enclosed trailers and buses are prohibited from crossing the bridges due to high winds.
