Design team introduced for VB’s future park at Rudee Loop; public input still sought
Throughout this week, the city has been getting feedback from the community. As project leaders said months ago, they want make sure the public is very involved.
The city in 2023 scrapped former Rudee Loop proposals after 84% of residents surveyed said they wanted to see a park for the site.
There had been three proposals submitted in 2022 for redevelopment of the site, including a mixed-use development with retail, hotels and an apartment; a park with a parking garage and apartments or a hotel; and a park and a parking garage wrapped with a surf museum, jetty walk and either a hardscape or open space concept.
