Two former employees accused of embezzling from Town of Abita Springs

ABITA SPRINGS, La. (WGNO) — Two former employees of the Town of Abita Springs have been arrested after they allegedly embezzled public funds.
According to information from the 22nd Judicial District Court, the arrests come following a "lengthy" investigation by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor, revealing embezzlement of over $250,000.
Man arrested in September St. Tammany Parish fatal crash
52-year-old Stacy Ludlow, of Mandeville, was formerly employed as the Finance Director for Abita Springs, and she is charged with theft over $25,000, money laundering over $100,000 and malfeasance in office. The crimes are alleged to have happened between 2019 and 2023.
41-year-old Fredrick Young, of Abita Springs, was formerly employed as the Public Works Supervisor, and is charged with theft over $25,000. The crime is alleged to have happened between 2021 and 2023.

Both suspects have warrants out for their arrests with court dates to be set after the arrests are carried out.
