GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — Green Bay Metro firefighters and members of Central Church, along with Santa Claus, paid a visit to HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, bringing holiday cheer and presents to patients.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for patients to interact with firefighters, see some of their gear up close, and enjoy a cheerful surprise from Santa himself.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department, working alongside members of the Green Bay Area Fire Fighters I.A.F.F. Local 141, hand-delivered gifts collected by Central Church directly to children in their hospital rooms.
“It’s a time of year where children and families are enjoying the holiday spirit from the comfort of their own homes. St. Vincent’s and the involved members of the community want to bring the festive spirit to patients who are not fortunate to enjoy that comfort,” said Lieutenant Shauna Walsh, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department's public information officer.
The gifts were thoughtfully organized and picked out for each individual patient by Central Church to ensure a positive and personalized experience.
The annual visit is more than just a festive tradition. It provides a much-needed distraction for families and children going through difficult times.
“When kids are in the hospital over Christmas time, it’s tough,” said Aaron Schaut, lead pastor of Central Church. “To be able to share the love of Jesus with them and bring hope during this season is awesome.”
