FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – New Haven city officials revealed a sculpture on Wednesday as part of the "I Am Allen" project, an initiative celebrating Allen County's Bicentennial.
The mural on the sculpture, painted by America Carillo, depicts many notable pieces of New Haven history and tradition. Images featured include the Maumee River, the Nickel Plate Steam Locomotive 765, the community’s popular bike trails as well as New Haven native turned Major League Baseball star Bubbles Hargrave.
In total, 15 other sculptures will have been revealed in 10 cities around Allen County by the end of its bicentennial celebration.
The statue is located next to New Haven City Hall.
