Dec 11, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Fleur de Lis Pizza, a beloved Baton Rouge pizza restaurant that closed suddenly in the summer of 2022, may soon reopen under new ownership.
Beau Box of Beau Box Real Estate confirmed Wednesday that the building is under contract with a buyer. Plans are in place to reopen the restaurant sometime in the next year, though the buyer's identity has not been disclosed.
Fleur de Lis Pizza closed in July 2022 due to staffing shortages, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The announcement prompted hundreds of comments from community members sharing memories and expressing sadness over the closure. The restaurant operated for over 70 years at the corner of Government Street and Cloud Drive in Mid City.
Box noted that the neighborhood is excited about the return of the restaurant, which holds significant local historic value.
The real estate listing shows a reduced asking price of $1.1 million, down from the original $4.5 million. According to the listing, the 1,813-square-foot building includes a dining room, bar, kitchen, two walk-in coolers, and an office.
