Person injured after stabbing on Benning Road, DC police investigating

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- D.C. police said a man was in the hospital Wednesday after he was stabbed overnight on Benning Road in Southeast.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that around 4 a.m. on Dec. 11, officers were dispatched to a stabbing that happened on Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue.
While investigating, first responders found a man conscious and breathing with injuries.
Medics took him to the hospital for treatment.

As the investigation continued, MPD said officers received a report for an 'injured person to the hospital."
This stabbing comes less than 24 hours after a woman was shot in the 4600 block of Benning Road.
D.C. police confirmed with DC News that the incidents are not connected.
