Woman dies in hitandrun crash in Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police in Prince George's County are investigating after a pedestrian was killed during a hit-and-run on Wednesday morning.
Details are limited, however, the Prince George's County Police Department said that around 6:10 a.m., officers were called to St. Barnabas Road near the outer loop of Interstate 495.
Upon arrival, first responders found a woman lying in the road.
She died at the scene.

Police said the driver left the area, and investigators are working to determine what led to the collision.
As of 7 a.m., all westbound lanes on St. Barnabas Road were closed between Brinkley Road and Virginia Avenue.
PGPD encourages drivers to use alternative routes until the scene is cleared.
