Police identify 56yearold woman in deadly singlevehicle crash in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has identified a 56-year-old woman as the victim in the deadly single-vehicle crash that took place on Nine Mile Road on Tuesday.
According to the Henrico Police, 56-year-old Brenda Lee Butler, of Henrico, was killed in the single-vehicle crash that occurred on Nine Mile Road near Laburnum Avenue on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
At around 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Henrico Police responded to the intersection of Nine Mile Road and Laburnum Avenue for the report of a single-vehicle crash.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2010 Toyota Highlander overturned in the intersection.
According to police, the driver of the Highlander, now identified as Butler, was located outside of the vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Butler was transported to the hospital, where she later died due to her injuries.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates Butler was driving westbound on Nine Mile Road when she ran off the road twice and lost control, resulting in the vehicle flipping multiple times before coming to rest in the intersection.
According to authorities, Butler was not wearing a seatbelt. Speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the crash.
