PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- A man is hurt after a shooting in Portsmouth on Effingham Street on Wednesday morning, police said. Around 10:55 a.m., Portsmouth police responded to a call for a shooting in the 300 block of Effingham Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound with an undisclosed severity of injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. This is an active investigation.
