SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Slidell lights up the night for the Holidays.
The lights are Christmas lights.
And sometimes they are spotlights.
WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood saves you a seat for some community theater.
Somewhere between the blow dryer and the blunt cuts, Brian Fontenot put down the scissors at his Slidell salon, to set up what he calls "cutting-edge theater."
No need to drink to get a buzz at this New Orleans bar
"Not a bad seat in the house. I designed it so that you will never have a head in front of you," said Fontenot.
He goes just next door to where his Broadway dreams come true.
"It started out when I wanted to bring art to the community to offer a different cutting-edge, new way to do theater, so I opened up here," said Fontenot.
Around Slidell Little Theater, everyone is busier than a bunch of elves. Playing the role of Santa Claus this theater season is Theater President Fred Martinez.

"Theater is always important. When it comes to Christmas, it provides us a special opportunity to teach a lesson. Scrooge is the story of a very selfish man, who through life, learns to be kind and generous," said Martinez.
In Slidell, community theater is the connection, from Christmas jingling all the way into the New Year.
So, Bah Humbug no more…they're saving you the best seat in the house.
