(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Dec. 10)–A high speed pursuit along Interstate 80 late Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon started in Lancaster County and ended in Sarpy County. Members of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a van for several traffic violations near Waverly, where a front seat passenger left the van and resisted arrest. A taser was used, but the passenger got back in and the van took off. Speeds reached more than 100 mph and the van later stopped near the Omaha National Cemetery. The passenger, 40-year-old Joseph Pate, and three others were later arrested. Pate faces several charges, including fleeing to avoid arrest and resisting arrest. Pate and three others were also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and evading a drug stamp.
