CINCINNATI (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Three individuals have been arrested in connection to a fire that damaged the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, also known as the “Big Mac Bridge,” which crosses the Ohio River from Northern Kentucky.
According to the Hamilton County, Ohio Jail, Kaitlen Hall, Zachary Stumpf, and Terry Stiles were taken into custody on Tuesday following a months-long arson investigation. Local ABC affiliate WCPO reports that the arrests stem from a November 1 fire that erupted beneath the bridge.
Investigators allege Stumpf intentionally set fire to a playground area located under the bridge, resulting in significant damage. The Daniel Carter Beard Bridge serves as a critical connector for traffic between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
All three suspects are facing charges related to the arson and are scheduled for a Wednesday court appearance. Further details on their involvement in the case have not been released.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
