Pedestrian hit and killed Tuesday night near Swope Park in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A pedestrian is dead after they were hit Tuesday night near Swope Park in Kansas City.
Police said the investigation shows that the pedestrian was crossing 63rd Street from north to south around 11 p.m. Tuesday when a Chevrolet Tahoe hit them.

The pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway when the Tahoe hit them. The person driving the Tahoe was traveling westbound on 63rd.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, according to police. The person driving the Tahoe was not hurt.
Police said the driver of the Tahoe stopped immediately, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
