WEDNESDAY, 12/11/2024 - 6:16 a.m. OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - The subject of an officer-involved shooting in Oshkosh has died, authorities say, and two stabbing victims have been hospitalized following a late Tuesday night incident. According to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ), its Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating the incident that began around 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10. Online records show Green Lake County kayaker who faked his death is in custody; press conference set for Wednesday Officers arrived at the 400 block of West 10th Avenue and reportedly found a stabbing victim outside of the home. Officers then entered the residence where they found the subject allegedly armed with a 'bladed weapon.' The release notes that the subject failed to "comply with orders" to drop the weapon, leading to one Oshkosh PD officer firing their gun, and hitting the subject. While lifesaving measures were being performed on the person, authorities say they found a second stabbing victim inside the residence. Both stabbing victims and the subject were taken to a local hospital, however, the subject was pronounced dead at the hospital. DCI is continuing to review evidence and determine the facts of this incident and will turn over the investigative reports to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s office when the investigation concludes.
