RAVENEL, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed in an early morning crash on Highway 162. Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash just after midnight in the Ravenel area. An initial investigation determined the vehicle was traveling west on Highway 162 when it left the road and struck a tree. The driver, who was the only occupant, died at the scene. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim.
