BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- LSU football head coach Brian Kelly talked about the Tigers' upcoming New Year's Eve bowl game against Baylor Wednesday. LSU is set to face Baylor in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31. Football fans can watch the game on ESPN. "We love the venue in which we'll be playing," Kelly said. The football team will have its first practice Thursday. He said there will be more information about the roster by Friday. "Here's what I know, the guys that will be fielding for this team will be 100% committed to getting a positive outcome. They'll be playing because they want to be playing," Kelly said. The Tigers come into the game with an overall record of 8-4 and 5-3 in the SEC. They are coming off a victory over Oklahoma in Tiger Stadium. The Baylor Bears are also 8-4 overall with a 6-3 record in the Big 12 Conference. They are led by head coach Dave Aranda who spent a few seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Tigers. Kelly talked about Baylor's offense, calling it efficient, adding "I think Sawyer Robertson has been really, really good." Baylor quarterback Robertson has thrown for 2,626 yards and 26 touchdowns this season. The Bears come into the game against LSU on a six-game winning streak. They have won three games against LSU while the Tigers own eight victories in the matchup.
