Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., has been named ambassador to Greece by President-elect Trump in the latest high-profile appointment of a close relative. Although his son’s relationship with Guilfoyle is rumored to be on the rocks, the elder Trump son heaped praise on the former Fox News host as “a close friend and ally” in announcing the diplomatic posting. “Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States,” Donald Trump posted on his social media site.   Kimberly Guilfoyle speaks during a Republican National Committee Victory Rally at Dalton Regional Airport January 4, 2021 in Dalton, Georgia. Gavin Newsom, a prominent Democratic critic of Trump. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon) Don Jr. and Guilfoyle, 55, have not been seen together in public since the week after the Nov. 5 presidential election that catapulted Donald Trump back to the White House. He has been spotted holding hands and exchanging kisses with Bettina Anderson, 38, a socialite who lives not far from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort club in Palm Beach. Anderson is reportedly a friend of Don Jr.’s ex-wife, Vanessa, who is the mother of their five children. Donald Trump has never been shy about doling out plum gigs to his relatives, friends, lawyers and business associates. He recently appointed Charles Kushner, the father-in-law of his daughter Ivanka, as ambassador to France. He pardoned Kushner, a real-estate mogul who was convicted of federal felony tax, campaign finance and witness tampering charges, during his first term. Trump named Massad Boulos, whose son is married to Trump’s other daughter Tiffany, as a presidential adviser for Middle East affairs. Jared Kushner, the son of Charles Kushner, cashed in on his Trump connection by launching a multi-billion dollar hedge fund aimed at Middle East sheiks who hope to forge even cozier ties with the once and future first family.
