BERNARDSTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A 14-year-old allegedly stole a vehicle and led police on a car chase across three states, ending here in western Massachusetts.

On Monday, police around 7:00 a.m. say they received a request from police in Hinsdale, New Hampshire to assist a teen dealing with a mental health emergency, according to NBC Boston. As officers were arriving, the teen stole the vehicle of a family member in Hinsdale.
They say the teen then crossed the Vermont border into Brattleboro, driving through road barriers, striking a police cruiser, and almost hitting several officers.
The chase ended in Bernardston, where police were notified and deployed spike strips to stop the car. The teen was then boxed in by police and taken into protective custody.
No injuries were reported.
