It’s no wonder we have so many accidents in Utah.  It baffles me that Utah rarely re-paints the lane lines on the highways and the main corridor roadways. We all know or should be aware of the lane we are traveling in. However, as the lines fade, the reflection does as well. Yes, they do fade over time. Utah has by far the worst maintenance for road striping,  an obvious hiccup for visitors as well. Second is the fact of the highway signage are to be reflected as well. In Utah they are covered with grime and filth, which destroys the purpose of safety.  People know where they are going most of the time. Night driving is more of a hazard when one cannot see the side or center lines. Road signs should be as intended. Light up with reflection of a vehicle’s headlights. Why is Utah so lax about signage on our roadways? It’s bad enough dodging folks on the cell phone, inconsiderate drivers, wildlife crossings, etc. Maintenance to these particular two things is not that difficult.  Or is it? No one answers the phone at the highway department. Who is in charge of such things?Jody Kavalauskas CoalvilleThe post Where’s my lane? appeared first on Park Record.
