No fog and drier this Wednesday morning, under a some colder air to start the morning rush hour. Overall, a fairly subtle, average start to our day for mid-December. Let's enjoy some early sunshine before clouds and snow chances begin to gather later today. Out-the-door temperatures are holding in the upper 20s. This afternoon, clouds gather and winds will become breezier, as a cold front approaches. This will kickstart pockets of light snow and snow showers. Although accumulations will remain light, reduced visibility and timing could create slower spots during the hours of 4-7 p.m. Any intense snow bursts could quickly cover some roads and slow travel during the evening rush hour. Expect highs today around 35° with west winds between 14-24 mph and stronger gusts of up to 30 mph. Snow ends promptly tonight, as skies clear overnight bringing a harsh start to our Thursday morning. Wind chills likely in the subzero range by sunrise. A brisk day ahead on Thursday with highs only reaching 25°--nearly 20° below the seasonal averages. Additional light snow is expected to return by the afternoon and evening with the steadiest north of downtown Indianapolis.
