ORLANDO, FL.– Tiger Woods is set to return to golf for the first time since having back surgery three months ago. The PGA TOUR made the announcement Tuesday. Woods and his son Charlie are scheduled to participate at the PNC Championship in Orlando next week. Woods released a statement saying in part “playing together is something we look forward to.” The two finished tied for fifth at last year’s event, which is played over two days and 36 holes. Woods has not played since the Open Championship in July. Last week he hosted a tournament in the Bahamas, saying he has “a long way to go” before he can make a return to professional golf. The 15-time major champion says quote “the fire still burns to compete.”
