CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in the Charleston and tidal Berkeley County areas, expected wind gusts could cause tree limbs to fall and even power outages. Marthers states that wind gusts can reach up to 40 mph, peaking between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The National Weather Service says the wind advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Officials say winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles and to exercise caution on the roadways. "Be aware on big bridges, these wind gusts are really going to have some punch to them," Mathers adds. Residents of the Lowcountry can expect a band of rain from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with some periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Marthers states that although a warm morning is expected on Wednesday, temperatures will drop to around 60 degrees in the afternoon and continue to fall to approximately 30 degrees overnight.
