SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR) -- The Orange had struggled early in the season against in-state competition, but there was no such issue Tuesday night as SU cruised past Albany, 102-85. It was the best performance for 'Cuse in a win so far this season as the home team shot 63.5% from the field for the game.
Donnie Freeman did not start the game, but still produced a career-high 24 points in 23 minutes of action. His stat line included four made three-pointers on four attempts from beyond the arc. Jaquan Carlos produced his first double-double in a Syracuse uniform with 12 points and 12 assists. Chris Bell broke out of his recent slump finishing with 18 points. Jyare Davis, who started in place of Freeman, recorded 15 points in the victory.
With the win, SU improves to 5-4 on the season. Next up will be a visit from Georgetown on Saturday. It will mark the 100th game of that stories series with the Hoyas.
