JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) - The City of Junction City announced on Wednesday that they had appointed a new city manager. The City of Junction City has appointed Kim D. Zimmerman as its new city manager. Zimmerman will start his position on Jan. 2, 2025, following Allen Dinkel who retired after serving the community for 10 years. Zimmerman was selected from a panel of 26 candidates. Zimmerman brings over 20 years of experience working as an active-duty logistics officer for the U.S. Army. Zimmerman has worked as an Operations Director for Privatized Military Housing at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, as the city manager in Ridgway, PA, and most recently as chief administrator for the Borough of Lewistown, PA.  Judge sentences Topeka woman in deadly crash that killed 3 local girl scouts, including her daughter Mr. Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science Degree in Geography and Regional Planning from California University of Pennsylvania.
