Multiple New Mexico caregivers accused of abusing residents

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Multiple caregivers are being accused of abusing residents at multiple assisted living facilities in New Mexico.

According to the New Mexico Department of Justice Salomon Sanchez, an employee at a Developmental Disabilities Waiver group home in Santa Fe appears to be captured on video refusing to help a resident. After his refusal, officials say Sanchez shoved the resident into a table and held them down.
In an unrelated case also in Santa Fe, Lee Carrizales is accused of verbally assaulting two residents Pacifica Senior Living Facility. The DOJ says one of those incidents was captured on video and uploaded to Facebook. Linda Romero, a paid caregiver, is accused of striking a Developmentally Disabled Waiver recipient multiple times. In another case, an employee at Morningstar Assisted Living in Rio Rancho, Edwars Bonilla-Aguinada, is accused of treating an 89-year-old Alzheimer's patient aggressive and ignoring her discomfort.
All three of the accused are facing abuse of a resident charges.
