We live in an age where the media can sway people‘s opinion. Knowing that is the case, it seems to me that the police’s press release and the journalists that cover the case are being biased and unfair in recent reporting. Responsible coverage should include that the perpetrator in the Jeep Gladiator followed the victim, Patrick Hayes, into his neighborhood, then shot him point blank from inside the truck, leaving the scene, not reporting the incident to authorities while two months have passed. The facts are the facts and they need to be reported along with any additional information. It is not fair to the victim or the victim’s loved ones. In order to claim self defense, it seems to me the shooter should call 911.
