Seekonk resident wins $1M from Celtics lottery game

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts State Lottery said that a Seekonk resident was the first winner of the $1 million prize in the Celtics Banner 18 game.
Brian Rego chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
The lottery said Rego quoted Celtic Kevin Garnett from the 2008 championship, saying “Anything is possible.”
He added that he plans on investing his winnings, purchasing a new car for his wife, and attending the NBA Finals later in the season.
The store where he purchased the ticket, the Speedway on Newman Avenue, received a a $10,000 bonus.
