WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A man indicted on murder charges for a deadly hit-and-run in Woonsocket pleaded not guilty in court today. 37-year-old Andrew Michael Martin was arrested back in July on assault to commit, felony assault and battery, driving to endanger resulting in serious bodily injury, and driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled license. Police said Martin allegedly hit 31-year-old Michael Lefebvre with his car on purpose due to an ongoing conflict stemming from a relationship back on July 1. Martin then fled the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest two days later. Lefebvre would later die at Rhode Island Hospital from his injuries. Martin was on the run for a week, before he was finally arrested in Pawtucket. Martin pleaded not guilty to the charged, and was ordered to be held without bail.
