PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The MSPCA-Angell and several of its Massachusetts Animal Shelter Support (MASS) coalition partners are teaming up to host a special “Home for the Holidays” adoptathon for all dogs aged one and older.
The event begins December 5 and runs through Sunday, December 8.
Shelters involved in the event include MSPCA Adoption Centers, Worcester Animal Rescue League (WARL), Berkshire Humane Society, and Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center (TJO), as well as non-coalition partners Lowell Humane Society and Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton.
Fees for all adoptions will be waved.
“This time of year often elicits feelings of love, joy, and warmth for people, all things we really want the animals in our shelters to experience as well,” said MSPCA-Angell Vice President of Animal Protection, Mike Keiley.
“Adopting now gives animals time to acclimate to their homes before the hustle and bustle of the holidays really gets going,” he added, noting that participating shelters collectively hope to rehome at least 100 dogs.
Those interested in adopting are asked to visit a participating shelter during open hours, which vary by location.
