MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was arrested after he took police on a chase from Memphis to Mississippi, nearly crashing into two children at horse stables in Olive Branch, officials say.
Jason Christie, 45, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and is now facing a long list of charges.
Reports say that just after 4 p.m., Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies received a BOLO (Be on the lookout) for a stolen black Nissan Altima last seen driving on Shelby Drive near Hacks Cross Road.

Multiple deputies found the stolen vehicle driving east on Shelby and tried to pull the car over. But, just moments after stopping his car, the suspect identified as Christie, drove off again before the officers got out of their vehicles.
Christie began traveling south on Forest Hill Irene Road, crossing over the yellow lines and driving on the wrong side of the road.
SCSO says Christie ran through a stop sign at a high speed and then turned onto a gravel road leading to Hunters Edge Stables, just south of the Tennessee and Mississippi state line.

Christie allegedly nearly struck a girl walking a horse on the gravel road and then moments later, reports say he almost hit a second girl.
The suspect stopped the vehicle in the wood line near the home on the property, then got out and ran into the woods. The Olive Branch Police Department responded to the scene with K-9s to track Christie.
Deputies later saw Christie walking toward them through the stable yard. He was then taken into custody and transported to Regional One Hospital.
Reports say that deputies found a medical bracelet inside the vehicle with Christie's name on it, along with two notebooks also with his name printed on them, and a machete shoved between the passenger seat and center console.
Records show Christie had an active warrant for Violation of Probation from October of this year. His driver's license was also found to be suspended.
