LPD forensics technician Becky Keller on Wednesday morning told Lincoln’s Morning News on KFOR that the fraud took place Oct. 24, where the victim reported her wallet missing, thinking she may have lost it somewhere on her way to work in downtown Lincoln. Keller said the woman received a text message from the Capital One Credit Card fraud team, asking if she used her card at Wally’s Tobacco near 13th and “O” Streets. The victim replied that she didn’t and the transaction was cancelled.
Keller says investigators talked to a clerk who helped the person that used the card and said the suspect came into the store and made an $81 purchase with the card, then came back and tried to make another purchase for $134, which was denied.

Meanwhile, on Oct. 30, a shoplifting case was reported at the Casey’s General Store near South Folsom Street and West “A” Street. Keller said the manager reported when he stepped into the office for a moment and wasn’t looking, a man grabbed four bottles of Hennessy and took off out of the store. The suspect left in a silver 2000 to 2005 Buick LaSabre, which had some back end damage, a big dent on the back passenger fender.
