Coroner identifies body found near Louisiana State Capitol building

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Police are investigating after a man's body was found in Baton Rouge near the Louisiana State Capitol.
The East Baton Rouge Coroner's Office identified the man as Trevin Blackmore, 35.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, there are no visible signs of trauma or evidence of foul play.
BRPD spokesperson Sgt. Darren Ahmed said officers were contacted Tuesday afternoon after a groundskeeper saw a body near the Capitol Lake shore. Officials responded to the North 3rd Street near the state building.
Ahmed said homicide detectives were on the scene investigating and the coroner's office will conduct an autopsy.
An investigation is ongoing.
