WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A man has been indicted for a deadly hit-and-run in Woonsocket that happened back in the summer.
37-year-old Andrew Michael Martin was arrested back in July on assault to commit, felony assault and battery, driving to endanger resulting in serious bodily injury, and driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled license.
Police said Martin allegedly hit 31-year-old Michael Lefebvre due to an ongoing conflict stemming from a relationship back on July 1.
Martin then fled the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest two days later.
Lefebvre would later die at Rhode Island Hospital from his injuries.
Martin was on the run for a week, before he was finally arrested in Pawtucket.
The Providence County Grand Jury indicted Martin with one count of murder, according to the R.I. Attorney General’s Office.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned at Providence County Superior Court.
