Man, 60, charged with DWAI after stolen car chase, crash in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 60-year-old man from Rochester was arrested and charged Tuesday evening following a stolen car chase through the city that ended in a crash with several other cars.
According to New York State Police, troopers were trying to stop the driver of a 2017 Chevy Cruze when the driver took off and a chase ensued. The chase ended when the Cruze collided with other cars and became disabled on Norton Avenue and Townsend Road, troopers announced.
The driver, identified by troopers as Francisco Rivera, was hospitalized to be treated for minor injuries before he was arrested. He faces several felony charges, including criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful fleeing a police officer as well as DWAI and other traffic violations. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment.

Troopers said his passenger, Brianna Velez, 29, of Waterloo, was also taken into custody upon being found to have arrest warrants in Seneca County.
