Investigation underway after woman shot in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An investigation is underway after a woman was shot in Fresno Tuesday evening, the Fresno Police Department said.
Officers responded to the area of Shields and Lorna avenues regarding a person suffering from gunshot wounds at around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, police say they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds and a man with her who did not get struck. The woman's wounds were non-life-threatening.
According to police, an investigation revealed the couple was in the area of Pleasant and Andrews avenues when they spotted a vehicle blocking the street. They honked at the vehicle blocking the street to get it to move. The driver of the vehicle then produced a weapon and shot at the couple, only striking the woman.
Investigators say the couple drove down the area of Shields and Pleasant avenues until the woman was feeling the pain from the gunshot wounds and called the police.
Officers add they have possibly located the suspect's vehicle.
This is an ongoing investigation.
