Child injured in crash outside Clovis elementary school

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A child was injured after being struck by an SUV outside a Clovis elementary school on Tuesday, according to the Clovis Police Department.
Officers say they responded to the area of Peach Avenue and Nees Avenue in Clovis at around 4 p.m. for a traffic collision involving a minor near Garfield Elementary School.
According to police, a child was in the crosswalk on their bicycle when the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe struck the child while making a right turn.

The child, who was wearing a helmet at the time, received minor injuries. The child was turned over to a parent at the scene; the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe also remained at the collision site.
