ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Mountain West postseason honors were good to Lobo football. For the first time since 2007, the Lobos have a pair of players on the All-Mountain West first-team offense with Quarterback Devon Dampier and offensive lineman Baraka Beckett. Another offensive lineman, McKenzie Agnello, was named second-team all-conference along with receiver Luke Wysong. The four lead a group of nine Lobos picking up postseason honors. With his first-team honors, Dampier became the first Lobo quarterback to ever earn first-team Mountain West honors and the first Lobo QB to earn a first-team league honor since 1998. Dampier led the league in total offense with 3,934 yards and was third in rushing with 1,166 yards, becoming the first Lobo quarterback to break the 1,000-yard mark. Beckett was part of an offensive line that averaged over 484 yards per game which is fourth in the FBS. Beckett didn't allow any sacks from his guard position this season. He also didn't allow any QB hits and also opened holes to make a successful rushing attack. The Lobos are one of only two teams in the fbs that had a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. "Yeah, they're all deserving and qualified and capable and I hope they're happy and fulfilled to just have the acknowledgment of their peers. That's a great compliment and I'm lucky to be all those kids coaches. They're great," said UNM Head Football Coach Bronco Mendenhall. Second-team all-conference is the third straight Mountain West honor for receiver Luke Wysong. Wysong led UNM in receptions with 69 for 840 yards, the most receptions at UNM since 2007, and the most yards at UNM since 2011.
